Profile of Steve Homan

Steve Homan has performed professionally for over 30 years. He has performed with such jazz artists as Howard Alden, Herb Ellis, Jimmy Smith, Joe Williams, Ed Thigpen, Hugh Masakela, Art Van Damme, Anita O’Day, Joey Calderazo, Mel Martin, Diane Schuur, and The Nelson Riddle Concert Orchestra. Steve has also appeared on recordings with Anita O’Day, Pete Jolly and vibraphonist Gene Estes. In addition, Homan has performed, composed and arranged music on CDs featuring The Delbert Bump Jazz Organ Trio and a tribute to the great jazz guitar/piano duets in collaboration with Joe Gilman.

Steve has also performed or recorded with Frank Morgan, Donald Harrison, Wycliffe Gordon, Mike Clark, Anton Schwartz, Ray Drummond, Brian Lynch, Steve Davis, Akira Tana, Dayna Stephens, Marshall Gilkes, Tom Peron, Bart Marantz, Herman Burney, Ingrid Jensen, Ndugu Chanceler, Willie Jones III, Madeline Eastman, Gilbert Castellanos, John Cocuzzi, John Allred, Bill Allred, Allan Vache’, Jimmy Robinson, Jake Hanna, Jessica Williams, Essiet Essiet, and Babatunde Lea.

Steve is joined by Alicyn Yaffee, Henry Robinett, Elias Lucero, and Doug Pauley on January 22, 2018 for the SJC presentation, 5 Guitars, Where Blues Meets Jazz. Masonic Auditorium.
